'This is a bit scary. Thursday evening I was wondering if I would ever get the chance to obtain Everything Stops For Tea on CD. I thought I would search for John's site and sadly when I did, it was only to discover that he had passed on. I sat just remembering the good time that me and my soccer buddies from my youth had with this album. It was one of the first they reached for when they came to my house. Thursday evening was a ritual First we would all go home and shower after a day of work, then meet at my house to watch Doctor in the House and then it was time for a few more beers and Long John. And as if it was meant to be there was and still is to this day a bar near my old neighborhood called: LONG JOHNS PUB. I'll have to sent you a photograph. Nothing but good times and there was nothing like Long John Baldry, soccer and women in my youth. I wish I could have seen him perform. I hope you will convey my regrets to John's family and with the release of ESFT I will again relive my youth through this cd'. -Robert M. Cierkes/Baltimore

'I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to meet and play some shows with John. The thing that stands out most for me was at the age of 13 my band and I were playing in Edmonton, opening for John. He took time and sat down with us before we headed to the stage. He was very supportive of us and he had a lot to say. He spoke very highly of many musicians and told us some albums/artists that we should check out. We were in town on the same night as the Fabulous Thunderbirds and of coarse once they were done playing most of them rushed down to sit in with John. Not only talking to John blew me away, it was mainly the fact that my dad had been a huge fan since before I was even born. I remember watching some TV specials over and over again that we had, and being thrilled how this guy could play and sing. He'll be missed by many and the music world will never forget the Legend! -Jordan Cook

'My deepest sympathy to all who knew & enjoyed the music of LJB. I've been a fan since the sixties and will miss the opportunity to hear anything new from him again. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the memorial in Granville but will say a prayer, pop in a CD or two and observe a moment of silence in remembrance of Mr. Baldry. Silent! That is what the is world will be like without his voice here to grace us. Long live the music of Long John Baldry!'
Deepest Sympathy,
-Dean Shackle

'Sorry to hear about the passing of Long John Baldry...it is a sad moment in time...but I do know that John will always be alive in our hearts and souls for many years to come. I met john back in the early 80's...I was simply overwhelmed to meet what I considered a living legend at the time...yet John made me feel like I had been a friend for years. I made a point of trying to see John playing live when ever he performed through the Prairie provinces. Long John Baldry is one of those guys who, as many might say, were larger than life ...but he was to me the one true legend. Rest in peace John'.
